Weather Cancellation Policy (Grass Tournaments)

🌧 WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY

(Grass Volleyball Events)

1. Weather Monitoring

Tournament directors will monitor radar and field conditions throughout the week and day of the event. Player safety and field integrity are the priority.

2. Rain Policy

Grass tournaments are rain-or-shine unless:

• Standing water creates unsafe footing
• Lightning is present
• Fields become unplayable
• Severe weather warnings are issued

Light rain alone does not cancel play.

3. Lightning Policy

• Play will be suspended immediately if lightning is detected within 10 miles.
• A 30-minute wait period will begin after each lightning strike.
• Repeated lightning may result in format adjustments or cancellation.

4. Format Adjustments

If weather delays occur, the tournament may:

• Shorten pool play
• Move directly to single elimination
• Adjust match length (e.g., single set to 25)
• Determine final placements based on seeding and results completed

No refunds will be issued due to format changes.

5. Full Cancellation

If the event is canceled before play begins:

• A credit (not cash refund) will be issued for a future Legacy event.
• If cancellation occurs after play begins, refunds or credits will be prorated based on matches completed.

6. Travel Disclaimer

Legacy Volleyball is not responsible for travel costs, hotels, or other expenses due to weather-related delays or cancellations.
