Train with Purpose. Prepare with Confidence. Leave a Legacy.
Club season is demanding.
Six months of practices, tournaments, travel, jumping, diving, and repetitive swings place significant stress on an athlete’s body. What happens next matters.
This camp is specifically designed for club athletes finishing their season who want to recover properly — and then transition into intentional off-season training that leads to real improvement.
Why Recovery Matters After a 6-Month Season
Research in youth athletics shows:
- 50–60% of youth sport injuries are overuse-related, particularly in year-round athletes.
- Athletes who skip structured recovery phases are significantly more likely to experience chronic knee and shoulder issues.
- Planned off-season strength programs can improve vertical jump and power output by 10–15%, while unstructured athletes often plateau.
- Structured recovery and deload phases can reduce injury risk the following season by up to 30–40%.
Volleyball is a high-impact, repetitive sport. Without a smart transition phase, fatigue accumulates and performance declines.
This camp teaches athletes how to reset the right way.
What Athletes Will Learn
Recover & Restore
- Mobility and flexibility training
- Shoulder and knee stability
- Core strength and posture alignment
- Movement correction and landing mechanics
- Reducing accumulated fatigue
Rebuild & Improve
- Safe off-season strength progression
- Jump mechanics and explosiveness
- Conditioning without overtraining
- Volleyball-specific athletic development
- How to build a structured off-season plan
Athletes leave knowing:
- How to properly recover after club season
- What off-season conditioning should look like
- How to prepare for school season and club tryouts
- How to train smarter — not just harder
Why Legacy Volleyball?
Legacy Volleyball is more than skill development. We are committed to developing the total athlete.
As a faith-based program, we follow the model of Jesus in Luke 2:52:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
At Legacy, we help athletes grow:
- Mentally — discipline, focus, confidence, and resilience
- Athletically — strength, skill, conditioning, and performance
- Spiritually — character, faith, and Christlike leadership
- Socially — teamwork, communication, and positive relationships
We believe true development happens when all four areas grow together.
That is what it means to leave a Legacy.
This is the exact camp you want to be at after a long club season! See you there!
____ NOTE ____
This camp is intentionally capped at 20 athletes to ensure individualized instruction and high-quality training. If interest exceeds capacity, we will consider expanding and/or opening additional spots.

Train with Purpose. Prepare with Confidence. Leave a Legacy.
Club tryouts can feel overwhelming.
Athletes are evaluated quickly. Decisions are made fast. Confidence, preparation, and presence matter.
This camp is designed to help middle school and high school athletes prepare for club tryouts — regardless of what club they plan to pursue.
We focus on more than just volleyball skills. We equip athletes with the tools, mindset, and habits that help them stand out the moment they walk into the gym.
Why a Tryout Prep Camp Matters
Most club tryouts last only 2–3 hours.
In that short window, coaches are evaluating far more than just technical ability.
Research in youth sport evaluation and performance psychology shows:
- Coaches often form first impressions within the first 10–20 minutes.
- Non-technical factors such as body language, communication, responsiveness, and effort can account for up to 30–40% of selection decisions in competitive youth sports.
- Athletes who demonstrate coachability and positive communication are significantly more likely to be selected over similarly skilled players.
- Athletes who rehearse competitive environments beforehand reduce performance anxiety by 15–25%.
Skill gets you in the gym.
Preparation and presence help you stand out.
What Clubs Are Actually Looking For
Evaluation begins the moment an athlete walks through the door.
We teach athletes how to stand out in three key phases:
1. When You Walk In & Check In
- Confidence and posture
- Eye contact and communication
- Professionalism and maturity
- Intentional warm-up habits
First impressions matter.
2. During Drills
- Consistency over flash
- Hustle between reps
- Communication on every contact
- Immediate application of coaching feedback
Coaches are constantly evaluating:
“Can this athlete elevate our team culture?”
3. During Open Play
- Volleyball IQ
- Decision-making under pressure
- Teammate interaction
- Emotional control and composure
Many final decisions are made during game-like play — not isolated drills.
When athletes understand both the tangible skills and the intangible qualities clubs prioritize, they walk in with a measurable advantage.
Volleyball Development
In addition to tryout preparation, athletes will train through:
- High-repetition skill refinement
- Game-speed competitive drills
- Serve and pass consistency
- Positional awareness and court IQ
- Confident communication and leadership
This is intentional, structured preparation — not just scrimmaging. We are utilizing drills and skill development from USA Volleyball, Art of Coach Volleyball Training, Clemson Volleyball, University of North Carolina (UNC) Volleyball, Louisville Volleyball, University of South Carolina Volleyball (USC) and College of Charleston Volleyball.
Development the Legacy Way
Legacy Volleyball is committed to developing the total athlete.
As a faith-based program, we follow the model of Jesus in Luke 2:52:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
We help athletes grow:
- Mentally — confidence, resilience, and competitive focus
- Athletically — skill execution, conditioning, and performance
- Spiritually — character, integrity, and purpose
- Socially — communication, teamwork, and positive relationships
We believe athletes stand out when all four areas develop together.

School Tryout Prep Camp
July 27 - 29
Location: Global Academy – Home of Legacy Volleyball
Session Times:
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Middle School
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | High School
Cost:
$150 per session
Train with Purpose. Prepare with Confidence. Leave a Legacy.
School volleyball season is different.
- It’s about representing your school.
- It’s about playing alongside classmates and friends.
- It’s about pride, culture, and earning your spot.
This camp is open to middle school (6th–8th grade) and high school (9th–12th grade) athletes, regardless of which club they played for last season.
Why School Tryout Preparation Matters
While club and school tryouts are similar in structure, there are important differences.
School coaches often evaluate:
- Coachability and attitude
- Team chemistry with classmates
- Leadership and communication
- Effort and consistency
- Ability to fit into a defined role
Research in high school athletics shows:
- High school volleyball participation has grown steadily nationwide, increasing competition for roster spots.
- Many high schools keep only 12–15 athletes per team, meaning selection rates can be competitive — especially at larger 4A and 5A schools.
- Coaches consistently report that intangibles such as attitude, work ethic, and communication heavily influence final roster decisions.
- Athletes who prepare for tryout environments in advance perform more confidently and reduce evaluation anxiety by 15–25%.
Preparation changes confidence.
Confidence changes performance.
What Makes School Tryouts Different
- Representing Your School
- Playing for your school brings a unique sense of pride. Coaches are building culture — not just skill sets.
- Playing with Classmates
Team chemistry matters. Coaches evaluate how athletes communicate and interact with peers.
Role-Specific Expectations
Unlike club, where development is emphasized, school programs often need athletes who can immediately contribute in defined roles (JV or Varsity).
Understanding these differences gives athletes a competitive advantage.
What This Camp Focuses On
- Game-speed drills specific to school tryout formats
- Serve and pass consistency
- Defensive positioning and communication
- Tryout simulation and competitive play
- How to stand out through leadership and effort
- Mental preparation for evaluation environments
Athletes will learn how to walk into tryouts confident, composed, and ready to represent their school well.
Coaching Experience
This camp is led by coaches who have coached district and division championship teams at the middle school and high school levels in competitive 4A and 5A regions.
Athletes will receive instruction from coaches who understand exactly what school programs are looking for — because they have built those programs.
Who This Camp Is For
- Middle school athletes trying to make their first school team
- High school athletes preparing for Junior Varsity (JV) or Varsity tryouts
- Players transitioning from club back to school season
- Athletes who want to confidently represent their school
Development the Legacy Way
Legacy Volleyball is committed to developing the total athlete.
Following the model of Jesus in Luke 2:52, we help athletes grow:
- Mentally — confidence, focus, and resilience
- Athletically — skill execution and competitive performance
- Spiritually — character and integrity
- Socially — teamwork, communication, and leadership
We believe the best athletes represent their school with excellence in all four areas.
Excited to see you all at this camp!
