Academy

Purpose

Legacy Volleyball Academy is a seven-week training experience designed for elementary and middle school athletes who want to grow in skill, confidence, and purpose—on and off the court.

This program is more than volleyball. We believe Academy nights should be meaningful, structured, and filled with encouragement—similar to the role of youth group in a church. It’s a consistent environment where athletes are built up, challenged, and surrounded by positive role models.

What to Expect

Athletes will be grouped by experience level and coached by members of our Legacy travel team staff headed by a Master Coach. Every session is designed to teach core volleyball fundamentals while reinforcing positive habits like discipline, teamwork, and servant leadership.

Training will include:

  • Ball control, movement, and footwork
  • Serving, setting, and attacking fundamentals
  • Rotations and court awareness
  • Small group competitions and scrimmage-style gameplay

Whether your child is new to the sport or preparing for school and club tryouts, this academy provides a fun and focused environment to grow.

Value

Includes:

  • Weekly training sessions
  • 1 in-house tournament experience
  • Legacy Academy T-shirt

Our goal is to make high-quality training accessible. This price point is intentionally set lower than comparable programs in the Upstate, without compromising on coaching, instruction, or impact.

Academy Leader

Coach David Reimann

Our academy is led by Coach David Reimann, the Head JV and Assistant Varsity Coach at Riverside High School and a longtime leader in the Upstate volleyball community. David has also coached at Mitchell Road Christian Academy, guiding athletes through school, club, and academy settings with a purpose-driven approach.

Over the years, Coach Reimann has helped develop thousands of young athletes through academies, clinics, private lessons, and team practices. From beginners discovering the game to elite Division I recruits, his adaptive coaching style ensures each athlete receives the attention, training, and mentorship needed to reach their full potential.

As a student of the game, Coach Reimann has learned from some of the best minds in volleyball — including coaches and programs from Clemson, USC, UNC, Louisville, Upstate, and Furman — continuously seeking to grow and bring the highest standards of training to Legacy Volleyball.

Grounded in his belief in Luke 2:52, Coach Reimann follows the 360° Progression Model inspired by the life of Jesus — helping athletes grow mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially both on and off the court.

He is passionate and obsessed with helping athletes create and leave their Legacy.
